Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystle Barrington.
Krystle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Writing has always been my thing. As a child, my head was always stuck in a book and so that’s where my love for writing began. I self-published my first book in 2015. Since then I’ve self-published several other books (available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and my website) all geared towards one purpose, and that is to encourage others to live a faith-filled life all while sharing my life experiences. In a nutshell, writing isn’t a hobby for me. Writing is my purpose. I’m also excited to be creating additional businesses all geared towards writing and finding my way through the world of being an influencer and content creator.
Has it been a smooth road?
This journey has been filled with highs and lows, but it’s all been worth it. The biggest struggle I’ve had in building a brand for myself is just getting comfortable putting myself out there. I’m an introvert and so networking and telling people verbally who I am and what I do doesn’t come naturally to me. I continue to be reminded that life is all about getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. I’m still learning this but I’m embracing it more these days.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a faith and lifestyle author, freelance writer, and content creator. Every time I have an idea and I see it through completion, that’s when I’m most proud of the work I’m doing. Writing consistency is a discipline and one that has taught me so much about myself. I’d say that sticking to my own writing voice and creating content that is a reflection of the things I’m truly passionate about are what sets me apart. The goal is not to look to what the person on my right or my left is doing but to always remain authentic.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I’ve had the opportunity to live in Alexandria, Virginia and Austin, Texas but there’s no place like home. Moving away and then returning has made me much more appreciative of the diversity and the food. The best part though is having my parents, my sister, and my niece/nephews around.
What do I like the least? Definitely the traffic.
