Today we’d like to introduce you to Anisha Kelkar.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Anisha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been very passionate about food from all different cultures, and when I moved to Houston a few years ago, I was thrilled to find out I live in a city with one of the most diverse food scenes.
I was always the one friend that everyone came to for advice on where to eat, where to take guests for food and drinks, and advice on fun things to do in the city. Although I’m not a Houston native, I researched the Houston culture and food scene well and immersed myself into this wonderful, diverse city.
My combined love for photography and food is what drove me to create EatsWithAnisha. I wanted to create a platform where I could show my friends and followers the best restaurants in town, help bring light to small businesses in the city, and share pictures of all the delicious food I eat!
My intention with EatsWithAnisha is to share my love for unique food and culture with my followers. I’d like to use my platform for travel as well, and now that I’m experimenting more with cooking, I’m looking forward to sharing more easy, delicious homemade recipes!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Taking pictures of the delicious food I eat and posting it on social media has definitely been a fun and easy process. However, with the Coronavirus and social distancing changes in 2020, it has definitely been more difficult to go out more and find more content to share on my platform.
I realize that at this time, restaurants and local businesses need our help more than ever. I’m trying to help small businesses during this time by giving them shoutouts and getting takeouts and sharing it on my page. I’m also trying to grow my niche to include more home cooking and daily life content as well.
eatswithanisha – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
EatsWithAnisha is a food blog, focusing on the food and culture of Houston.
I think what sets me apart from everyone else is that I’m just another normal person trying to share my love of food with my family, friends, and rest of my followers!
I’m not originally from the Houston area so I’m learning more and more about Houston every day along with my followers. I hope people who follow me are able to relate to me and my content from a more personal level!
