Meet Kii’ana Bates of Pour Habits in Northeast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kii’ana Bates.

Kii’ana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started bartending six years ago and immediately developed a love for it. Working at a fast pace, interacting with new people everyday and twirling behind a bar became my favorite things to do. I worked weddings and events with my family’s company for a while then later decided to join a mobile bartending company. After becoming a single mother, filled with passion, I then decided it was time to multiply myself by venturing off and starting my own company. I genuinely enjoy the expressions and positive feedback from clients and guests and I thought how amazing it would be to share my knowledge and love for bartending during multiple events at a time. Then, on March 1, 2020, Pour Habits LLC was established.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a company during a Pandemic has had it’s various challenges. As people are being implored to keep a safe distance from one another and being unsure with what the days to come, there can be a bit of uncertainty as to whether or not we’ll be able to provide our services. With faith, I continue to strive and push through these challenging times as we continue to grow and expand in a way that brings safety and comfort to not only our clients, but everyone else involved.

Please tell us about Pour Habits.
Pour Habits is a mobile bartending company that specializes in mixology and personalized bartending services for an array of clientele. Not only are we known for our exceptional professionalism, but our delicious drinks as well. In addition to going above and beyond to ensure a safe and fun environment, what sets my team aside is the passion and enthusiasm we possess and exude along the way. My journey is what I am most proud of, as it plays a pivotal role in who I am today. After a lot growing, learning and even stumbling a little on the way, I’ve finally become who I’m destined to be. #BoyMomBoss

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I believe the timing is everything and God makes no mistakes. I wouldn’t change anything about my past simply because it’s molded me into who I am and that makes the road and the destination that much more significant.
