Today we’d like to introduce you to John Lammons.
John, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Twenty one years ago, I started learning Gracie Jiu Jitsu with a student of Royce Gracie, UFC hall of famer. Fighting in the Houston area in the 90’s, started teaching the art in 2008 in Costa Rica, at jungle gym. Moved to USA in 2011 and started anaconda training center. Teaching adults and kids self defense and the bully proof system of jiu-jitsu.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Teaching on an island has its challenges, also teaching while injured with 2 torn rotator cuffs, finally had them repaired in 2012.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Anaconda Jiu-Jitsu – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Most proud of teaching students and having the actually use jiu-jitsu against an attacker. So far 3 students has been saved. What sets me apart from other Jiu Jitsu schools is our system of self defense from the Gracie family of Brazil.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Teach more students, and upgrade the gym.
