Today we’d like to introduce you to Nayely De Leon.
Nayely, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
For as long as I could remember, I have been addicted to cheese. I always made sure to stop by Krogers or Walmart and purchase those $10 trays of pepperoni, cheese, and crackers to snack on. And if there was ever an event with cheese and crackers as a snack, you know I was stuck to that table! It was not until July when my sister purchased a charcuterie box that I knew I had to begin a business as well. That was how cheese deserved to be eaten. So from there on, I began my journey. I mean how much better could it get? I get to service what I love most to you guys! My amazing community is what has gotten me where I am today.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, like every business it has been a rocky road. Especially having begun in the midst of COVID. I started off with no actual knowledge of cheese, wine, or any of those pairings. I had no experience in marketing or advertising nor networking. But as time passed and as I put in my part, I got the hang of it and was able to get my business to take off.
Please tell us about Boxed It Pretty.
Boxed It Pretty is a Charcuterie/Grazing business. I specialize in pairing cheese, meats, and more for you to enjoy on bread/crackers. Basically, I make fancy adult Lunchables! I organize my orders so neatly and beautifully that you wouldn’t even want to eat them, just sit there and admire! I also offer vegetarian and vegan options because there is beauty in veggies as well. I know that this business is not common, but neither is it rare. The charcuterie community is an amazing place and I fully support everyone in this same profession from my area or not. I know that I give my full love and dedication to every service that I do, that and a crazy variety of foods. I personally message customers to ensure that they can customize their box/tray/board specifically how they want it and I make it very fun and easy to choose. I will always try my best to accommodate! There is not a day that goes by that I am not proud of my overall business. It is a never-ending trophy that reminds me all of the time of my ambitions. It is a reflection of me and that says a lot.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory now from when I was a child has to be my constant spending on anything cheese! How could I have not seen my passion sooner? From cheese sticks, cheese itz, lunchables, to pizza, I mean you name it, if it had cheese I ate it! I was a pro at stacking crackers with ham and cheese!
