Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronson Smith.
Ronson, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
You know, being left-handed, I grew up hating arts and crafts in grade school (and still kinda do to this day). Finding a left-handed pair of scissors is still a toss-up! While being physically creative in a right-handed world can be a challenge, even disheartening at times, I was thankfully able to find my outlet in high school through digital media. By attending a magnet school, I got exposure to programs like Illustrator and Photoshop and learned how to express myself through them.
By the time I got to college, I was making creative event flyers on the regular. Eventually, it became a side hustle and before I knew it, I was also making GIFs, t-shirt designs, and even business logos. At this point, I realized that I was making things for other people, but hadn’t even made a name for myself. I came up with the name RNSN Designs based on my first name, Ronson. With the o’s being like eyes, I wanted RNSN Designs to be able to take the client’s vision – all that I was missing- and turn it into a reality. Three years later, I am now in a position to take RNSN Designs to the next level and bring brand recognition to my graphic design business.
Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely not. Like most people when doing something new, or different, I had my doubts. But thanks to friends and family who believe in me and what I create, I was able to gain confidence and bring RNSN Designs to where it is today.

Yes, it’s a great place to start any business! Houston is a city full of hustlers, go-getters, and self-made entrepreneurs. All it takes is confidence, the ability to learn from your mistakes, and finding the connections that you need! Struggles will come, but remember why you started! I also can’t stress enough the importance of having a solid support system. I’m thankful for every client, opportunity, and lesson learned over the last three years of RNSN Designs, and cannot wait to see what the future holds!
