Meet J. Dwayne Garnett of Love Is A Parable

Today we’d like to introduce you to J. Dwayne Garnett.

J. Dwayne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In June of 2017, we initially started as an initiative to promote random acts of kindness. Within our first six months, we evolved into an organization that provides ‘love education’ as a means to promote unity and solidarity.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it has been exactly easy. If honest, we are living in an extremely skeptical society, when talking about love, many suspect an ulterior motive. In addition to breaking through those barriers, there were some biases we faced associated with being African American Business Owners. Many times, we were challenged to prove that we are truly carrying out our mission.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Love Is A Parable – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are Love Is A Parable:
Our vision is to see a world living in unity through love. Our mission is to promote unity, love, and random acts of kindness while providing love education, love advocacy, and love wellness.

Through our reflective thinking approach, we focus on the internal workings of self, assisting others to reduce the tendency to rely on restrictive ideologies, with an intent to obtain an awareness of the complications associated with exercising limiting beliefs and how they play a vital role in hindering personal fulfillment and meaningful interconnections. We aim to prevent the relegating assumptive stance regarding love while partnering with community members and organizations in providing courses that provide the skills necessary to permeate love and facilitate random acts of kindness in efforts to achieve unity and cultural appreciation. Through our various courses, we have been able to add nearly 100 more Love Advocates to our community while maintaining a growing list. Participants who take our courses will receive:

· Personal development and uncover implicit/unconscious bias

· Discover ways to identify love and maintain a positive self-image

· Implement restrictive and assumptive thinking reduction practices

· Initiate ways to love themselves and others daily

· Facilitate Acts of Kindness projects in their community

There year alone, we have completed nearly 900+ training and development hours.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are working towards securing a facility to have a stationary location to provide more of our exclusive services. We’d like to continue to partner with community members and organizations, creating customized trainings that promote unity and love while enriching productivity and togetherness.
