Life & Work with Lester Greene

Hi Lester, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, my name is Lester Greene and I was born in Germany, raised in El Paso, Texas. My father was in the military and my parents are Guyanese. I graduated from college with a degree in Journalism/English. I then transitioned from writing to acting, and I haven’t stopped since.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as relatively smooth road?
Being an actor is not easy. I’ve cried over it. I’ve missed out on booking some big projects, but I’m not bitter. It has toughened me up, and it has shaped who I am today. I try to focus on the bright moments.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an actor and a producer. I have acted in the following TV shows: “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” and “The Luckiest Guys on the Lower East Side.” And I’m currently filming two other shows: “30331” created by J Nance with producer Erika Robinson and “Sidelines” created by Dedra Simon with directors Idris Pearson and Darrin Deshazer. You can also catch me in the web talk show: “Camera’s Rolling” with Laura Poindexter, Andrew R. McCallister, Suzan M. Norton, and April Morrison. We start production on that very soon. I’m most proud of my work in “30331” because I am playing a police officer who suffers from anxiety and PTSD. In the world that we live in today, cops are facing an uphill battle – but I love playing challenging roles…

What matters most to you? Why?
My goal is to touch people with my art. I want to change the world, and spread positive energy. My book “Act Like You Love Yourself” is another way that I am able to touch people’s lives. I’m leaving a legacy. If anybody would like a signed copy, you can email here: lesterdavidgreene@gmail.com.
