Hi Trenity, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Trenity Thomas, growing up watching my mom crafting and painting ignited my view on art. Not only my mom being a primary impact, my creative peers also contributed to my overall apparition of art. While working at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, constantly surrounded by beautiful paintings, photos, and sculptures as a teen docent and also as a guard influenced me as an artist. In addition, being a big lover for cinematography in movies drives my creativity in imagery.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some struggles were being ignored, creative blocks, and being denied. You have to keep an open mind. Just know things that are meant for you will come.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a photographer and painter but I would like to be known as just an artist because I️ love doing anything creative. Right now, photography is my main focus, it’s like me and my camera are connected. Most people know my work from seeing my models in a different view, in an alternative light. I’m most proud of getting into two exhibits at the same time this year. Even though the year 2020 has been kind of rocky, having my work on view brought joy to my heart, I️ also won a spot for a solo exhibit for the summer of 2021.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’m a big music and movie lover. Most of my inspirations come from movies.
