Today we’d like to introduce you to Kris Caldwell.
Hi Kris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It’s so interesting how my decision to become a hairstylist came full circle. After graduating college and working in the medical field for quite a few years, I became burnt out and needed a change. The birth of my second son solidified my need and drive to become an entrepreneur. With the support of my husband, I was able to go back to school and obtain my cosmetology certification as well as my degree in cosmetology. I’m the oldest of five children, four of which are girls. So my mother had me help her comb my sister’s hair quite often.
My businesses are ShesADiva Styles Beauty Bar and ShesADiva Strands Hair Company. I love to style and care for people’s hair. I don’t feel like I’m working at all when I’m styling hair and talking with my clients. I truly enjoy what I do! The hair extensions brand came after I’d been styling hair for a while and realized I should provide hair for my clients in order to make myself a one stop shop. It was a natural transition to provide quality hair to my clients as I’d be the one installing it as well.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has been super busy and at times difficult. I’m constantly learning new ways to advance my businesses while trying to stay on top of the ever changing styles and techniques of my profession. I’m a wife, mother and business owner so the demands of the three often overlap and can be quite complicated. I always tell people that my drive and personality are a blessing and a curse to me. I am very organized and not much of a procrastinator. When I set my mind on attaining or accomplishing something, it’s pretty much a done deal. But the pressure I put on myself along the way is oftentimes very stressful.

ShesADiva Styles Beauty Bar is my beauty salon experience. I am a Texas Licensed Cosmetologist. I specialize in hair extensions, micro link installs, braids and natural protective styling. My second company, ShesADiva Strands Hair Company is my own brand of premium virgin hair extensions and wigs. I offer on hand sales as well as online sales.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can support my brands by booking styling appointments and purchasing hair (bundle, wigs and closures) in person and online.
