Meet Christy Brown of The Vine in New Ulm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Brown.

Christy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story is quite interesting! What started as a dreamy vision has now become my reality. As a lover of wine, my husband always wanted to start a Texas vineyard. Myself, an admirer of Bud Light, was confused on how these two, quite different likes, would come together to create the ultimate feat. My contribution to this idea was to bring in a celebratory burst to align with quite a large undertaking of running a vineyard. After much collaboration, weddings and special events quickly became our pursuit for The Vine.

With much hard work and a lot of blood, sweat and tears, I am happy to say that we are in full wedding mode! I love all of my brides and feel so privileged that they have chosen The Vine as they begin their journey in life together.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting a new business venture is always risky, but hard work always pays off. Our team’s main struggle was difficulty with marketing and getting our name into the wedding industry. I have learned that having a strong marketing strategy in addition to an amazing vendor team enhances our social media presence and proves to be a great asset for The Vine.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Vine – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Vine is a full-service event venue specializing in wedding and corporate events. We are known for our Barrel Barn, a 10,500 sq. ft. historic barn with reclaimed additions throughout, both inside and out! Our Estate also has our Union Bell chapel along with the bridal and groom cottages available for our wedding parties to enjoy while preparing for their “big day”. The 7.5 acre, 5,000 grapevine vineyard has five custom varietals with our first harvest in 2019. As a company, what makes me the proudest is The Vine was created out of Love. It’s most gratifying to see your hard work pay off and others to see and enjoy our estate!

I feel what sets us apart from others is our customer service and attention to details! We strive for excellence with every event held at The Vine! Our customer service involves not only meeting but surpassing everyone’s expectations and to leave a lasting impression on our customers and their guests.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our future at The Vine will house a tasting room for our “Texas” wines as well as our winemaking facilities and cellar.
