Today we’d like to introduce you to Theresa Harring.
Hi Theresa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been injecting faces for over 20 years and really started in the operating suite with my father, an oral surgeon in the Navy. My start in aesthetic medicine began when my mother had a bad outcome with Botox and the injector blamed her. I quickly realized that I was incredibly qualified to provide cosmetic injections, and I didn’t want to trust anyone else to inject my mother or myself. My first aesthetics course was eight years ago, and I’ve been practicing aesthetics since.
My career in medicine started in the surgical field, and I completed four years of surgical residency before switching to Emergency Medicine for a better lifestyle. I have completed a total of seven years of residency and have been practicing Emergency Medicine for over six years now. I still work in the Emergency Department, and my business started as a mobile concierge service. My clients appreciated my expertise, and my business has grown organically, usually only by word of mouth. I like my results to speak for themselves. I consider myself a master of anatomy, and I wouldn’t expect anything less from someone injecting my face. I apply my standards to everyone of my clients, and I strive for the best and most natural result while trying to escape the harsh realities of time and age.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The year 2020 has been my largest struggle, as I’m sure it has for almost everyone. I have been running my business with limited contact between my clients while trying to maintain my sanity between homeschooling children, navigating school processes, emotionally supporting my husband while he has worked from home for a year, and still working shifts in the Emergency Department. My clients and their safety has always been paramount, but I have developed protocols to keep my clients safe while still receiving their treatments.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I created Spa 146 by Dr. Theresa Harring because I felt there was something lacking in the field of aesthetic medicine – physicians. After my mother had a bad experience from an unqualified injector, I realized that physicians, who have studied and mastered anatomy, have the best ability to perform the procedures that we all want to keep ourselves youthful. I pride myself on only providing the highest quality services and dedicating my expertise to provide my clients with the outcome they want. I stand behind my services, and I don’t offer gimmicks or procedures that are unsafe – I have even stopped offering procedures that did not give my clients the results they desired or procedures that are too risky. My goal is to provide my clients with complete access to me – a board-certified physician with over 20 years of injecting experience, eight years of specific aesthetic experience, the absolute best treatments on the market today performed safely and expertly only by me, and the anti-aging results they desire to continue putting their best face forward.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I project that the aesthetic industry will continue to move away from harsh surgeries and more into natural, office-based procedures. This is exactly what I offer now – the best treatments without surgical interventions. Most of us want to look natural, polished, refreshed – not plastic, fake, or stretched. These trends will continue, and the strategies will continue to change and improve. I am dedicated to constantly continuing my education for this reason, as I want to bring the best to my clients.
