Today we’d like to introduce you to Keezy TwoHundo.
Hi Keezy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Texas in 2017 for basketball and to continue my education at Wiley college. Before moving, I had started promoting for an 18+ club after I graduated HS in 2015. When I moved, I thought things would be different for me in the south so I didn’t even entertain the thought of pursuing the same thing in Texas. After a semester at Wiley, I started traveling to different college parties and campuses. I then started to network with different promo teams. Eventually, my name started to carry weight based off of promoting and actually pulling up to the event and turning it up. I wasn’t Mcing but I was still on crowd control, hyping people up. I threw my first party the night before graduation in 2019 and it was successful. The money I made from there was my pocket-money to start my new venture in Houston. I didn’t know if I wanted to go back to California or stay in Texas but for some reason, I stayed and moved to Houston.
I started promoting for Ari the Dj and MC dancing kye with their Lez Houston promo team. I was able to network a lot and continue to learn. Though I was in a new city, I learned that Houston wasn’t that much different from the bay. I continued to do business with college parties while I was expanding my crowd on the club scene, whether it was LGBTQ+ or not. I knew I wanted to start MCing when I threw my first party, after a Wiley College basketball game versus a rival school, on their senior night in 2020. I grabbed the mic and I did our school’s call out and the room shook. A visiting dj had said, “I ain’t ever seen that before and how you controlled the vibe was crazy.” I didn’t think much of it but it was the start of something. I got booked for a Sam Houston party after that and then corona hit and I left It alone. I didn’t pick it back up until I had networked with T Nitty from Southern heat. He helped with getting me back started with Mcing after the pandemic hit. Meeting him was a blessing.
I started Mcing again at Luna lounge and at a WeThePartyx Halloween party where Erica Banks had performed. After those events, I started to look for more opportunities because I just Loved where I was at and what I was doing. Being an MC for an event is like being the point guard on the court. You gotta bring energy and provide an experience to those around you. I started getting a consistent gig with ROCKSTARMVFIA after that. I started to grow and learn more as an MC. Every week I improved. February 2021, I took it more serious and got a videographer to help with my content and start building my brand, shout out to D.LegendFilms on IG. Ever since then, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to MC on more than one night during the week. Eventually, I got booked for a luxury brand named “Panache” to go MC their takeover in Atlanta. I’ve been enjoying this process thus far. It’s crazy to think it’s only been a short period amount of time but that’s what makes it even better is that this is only the beginning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not really, the pandemic took a toll on what I really wanted to do. I really just stopped entertaining the thought of MCing nor thought of pursuing it more. Everything happens for a reason and I’m grateful for the setback. I wouldn’t be where I’m at now without a few bumps in the road.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a lot of things. To my kids back home, I’m their basketball coach. I’m a first-generation college grad and I graduated from an HBCU. I’m a hooper. I’m a big sister. I’m a daughter. I’m a friend. I’m Keezy. I’m a party promoter. I’m a club promoter. I’m an event curator. I’m a Southern Heat model rep. I’m an MC. I’m known for knowing a lot of people someway somehow because I like to talk a lot. I like to network. . I like to travel. I like to throw parties where people can have fun and be in a safe space. I like to deliver experiences people will remember and can talk about for years to come. I like having fun. I love Living my best life no matter what. I’m proud of who I was. I’m proud of who I am. I’m proud of the person I am becoming. It’s never easy but I always trust the process and it’s been paying off. I’m proud of me for being 1500 miles away from home and being able to do what I’m doing now. You’d think I wouldn’t know a lot of people but I do, and they’ve all helped me realize a lot about myself throughout this process. I’m genuine, honest, and I work hard. I treat People with respect. I’m a people person. It’s easy for me to talk to people. It’s easy for me to make somebody’s day. The way I move is different. The way I talk To and treat people is different. The way I do things is unorthodox but it works.
