Hidden Gems: Meet Leslee Fontenette of Living Well With Leslee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslee Fontenette.

Hi Leslee, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been into sports and exercise, but after meeting my husband who has an autoimmune disease, I quickly realized there was way more to health than just exercise. This began my journey to learn everything I could about health and wellness. Before becoming a health coach, I was teaching elementary school and enjoyed teaching science, reading, and writing. What I didn’t enjoy was seeing those same kids not be able to have birthday cupcakes because they had type 2 diabetes or see their journal entries about feeling ‘fat’. I knew if I wanted to make a change, I had to start with their biggest role model, their parents. That began the turning point to become a certified Health Coach and not only help individuals but families. If we don’t have our health, we don’t have anything.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has definitely been some challenges along the way. I’ve always known that I wanted to help people live their healthiest happiest lives, but what I didn’t know was anything about running my own business. I learned very quickly to ask for help with the things I don’t understand so I can spend more time on my big vision.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Living Well With Leslee?
89% of women are unhappy with their weight. 95% of people who diet will gain the weight back within the year. Diet pills and teas can cause chronic pain and constipation. What really works is a professionally guided program to help with mindset, movement, and food in a sustainable way.

I’m proud to say that I provide just that for my clients. We take small steps each week so that we can create those healthy behaviors that we don’t even have to think about, we just naturally do. As a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, I believe enjoying those around us is more important than stressing about what’s on our plate or how we will look in pictures.

I offer a group coaching program with weekly calls and support, 1:1 coaching, and I’ll be hosting my first in person girls camp this summer in Kingwood.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up in a very small town by the Frio River. Ballet was my main interest and had my mom enroll me as soon as I was old enough. There wasn’t a lot to do in the small town so if I wasn’t in ballet, I was helping out at our family business, cleaning cabins, picking up trash, or airing up inner tubes. Personality-wise, my mom would describe me as sweet, outgoing, stubborn, and a typical youngest child.
