Check Out Victoria Soriano Rosas’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Soriano Rosas.

Hi Victoria, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My seven kids and I are the owners of Bunch O’ Vases. Our small business started about three years ago. During holidays my kids and I would make arrangements for family and friends. For a while, we didn’t think it would go anywhere more than that until one Valentine’s Day my daughter, Emily, took one to school for one of her teachers. Her friends loved it and after that, we got many orders for different arrangements. My kids decided we should make a social media account for it. We chose the name “Bunch O’ Vases” because there is a bunch of us. Since then, we continued making arrangements for any occasion. We started off with floral and candy vases until March 2020, which is when the covid-19 pandemic started. We thought we would have to put a pause into our business, but it expanded more than we thought it would. Eventually, people requested more than just vases. They asked for flower boxes and chocolate breakables. We had no idea about either of them but once we found a distributor that suited us, we now offer several different types of flower boxes; from the famous I♥︎U box to the M♥︎ M box. We also have many different molds for chocolate breakables. Our breakable heart is our most popular. Each breakable comes with a mallet to break it. Even though it wasn’t easy as it seems and after many attempts to make them, we finally got it. We nailed it! Our chocolate breakables are a great way to surprise anyone and it’s all edible, from glitter to gold.

Since then, I have decided to quit my full-time job in dental billing and now I only work 2-3 days a week in a dental office. The rest of the days, I stay home with my son, Cj. He is eight years old and is home-schooled for now. My husband, Stephen, works full-time in a local dealer in Sealy. He is a great supporter. At first, he just thought it was all fun and games until orders started coming in and now he is our delivery guy on the weekends. We have also provided some mascots only for the holidays, in which Stephen dresses up as the Grinch and the Easter Bunny. He enjoys it since you can’t see his face. We made our small business with lots of love and patience and we hope to keep going for many more years to come. Several customers are looking forward to a local store but I say we should take it slow for right now. Although, we will continue to make our customers happy. We have been in business for one year and haven’t had a complaint so to me, that is priceless and it tells us we are doing our job right. For everyone with a small business, keep trying and never give up. There are rainy days and sunny days, but if you keep your faith and keep pushing to better yourself and your business, then it’s all worth it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been pretty easy to maintain our business, although sometimes each of us get busy with our own schedules and have to make time to balance everything out. With covid still around, it’s not as hard as it was in the beginning.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our most popular items are our chocolate heart breakables and mixed crates. I’d say we are most proud of how creative we can each be when it comes to these products and how differently each one looks. We are one of the best in the area because we are very affordable and have a wide variety of products. We make everything to your liking!

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Something I’ve always held onto while having my own business is that it’s okay if things don’t as planned. Never give up and it’ll pay off in the end. As a mom, I wish I knew how hectic things would get between my kid’s school and extracurricular activities and with orders.
