Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitchell Bage.
Hi Mitchell, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Mitchell Bage, Co-Owner and Creative Director of Maison de Campagne (MDC), a lifestyle brand specializing in Interior Design and Bespoke Home Staging based in Galveston, TX. I was born and raised in Galveston County, Santa Fe, TX, to be more exact. In the year 2000, I began a career as a Business Analyst for the Aerospace Industry and had to put my passion for Art, Architecture and Interior Design on the backburner but it was never forgotten. After years of supporting NASA programs and assisting colleagues, friends, and family achieve their dreams of stunning homes, I finally decided to branch out officially and create my own interior and staging service business. With the support of my husband Luis, it was finally time to follow my true love and change direction from Aerospace to Design. Big change, right?
MDC was inspired by my passion for the french countryside aesthetic, a mix of rustic elements and refined details that results in a showstopping, simple, and elegant home. I pride myself in the ability to merge a more traditional style with a modern look by layering a mix of materials onto a classic foundation. I bring my love for interiors into every project I work on, and it truly brings me so much joy to be able to explore my creativity, show my talent, passion, and express myself in ways that I had never done before.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I think every company has its ups and downs in the beginning as you learn the nuances of being a business owner. Trying to balance the wants and needs of clients with the demands of running a business from a logistical perspective is a definite learning curve. In the beginning, both myself and my husband maintained full-time jobs and took on clients and projects during the evenings and on weekends, so there was quite a bit of sacrificing of our personal time and time with family, but everything worth having requires some sort of sacrifice and we pushed through it. 2020 was very challenging for the obvious reasons, but at the same time, it put things into perspective and solidified our resolve to push forward and stay on our chosen path.

MDC is an Award-Winning Company based in Galveston, TX, serving the Galveston County and Greater Houston area. Our objective is to help our clients realize their project’s fullest potential by offering a versatile and sensible approach to design, thus allowing a timeless look that transcends beyond fads or trends.
We work with homeowners, investors, builders, realtors and strive to keep them happy and stress-free knowing that we will help them achieve their goals; whether that be beautiful personal spaces, maximizing their Return of Investment on the sale of a property, or showcasing a short term rental property. We are passionate about our work and enjoy creating breathtaking spaces worthy of a magazine spread that are impactful and will evoke an emotional connection for every client.
What matters most to you? Why?
Integrity… We often see lines blurred when doing what’s best for a company. Therefore, it is a daily challenge to ask ourselves if we have met the needs of clients, provided honest insight and the best product possible. I want every client to feel our company was value-added and instrumental in the success of the end goal.
