Community Highlights: Meet Jacquelyn Prosch of Jacquelyn Prosch- Realtor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacquelyn Prosch.

Hi Jacquelyn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Originally from Maryland, I moved to Virginia to earn a master’s degree in education from James Madison University. I passionately served as a kindergarten teacher for 8 years in Virginia, Georgia, Italy, Washington state, and Texas as I accompanied my husband who served active duty in the United States Army and became mommy to 2 of the most beautiful babies.

For many years now, I have been seeking something more professionally! I have always been interested in real estate (perhaps due to all of the homes I have lived in) and knew that a career in real estate could potentially fulfill my ultimate goals for growth, opportunity, financial freedom, and a work/life balance.

Making the decision to leave a job that I had loved and had become an expert in to transition into a career that was going to be a steep learning curve was a VERY difficult one. However, I knew that the opportunities for growth and development that starting my own business would provide were worth it!

I took the plunge this past Christmas while I was still teaching kindergarten. I signed up for my online classes, and set a goal to not only complete them, but to have my real estate license by the end of the school year. Teach by day, study by night… and I did it!

Additionally, my husband and I took it a step further and started our own Real Estate Investment business.

Since then I have dove head first into building my business as Realtor here in The Woodlands and surrounding areas and my husband and I have worked tirelessly to build our investment business.

I have had to learn (and am still learning) how to completely change my mindset from a 9-5 with laid out expectations to welp… just me running the show. I’ve never put myself out there more than I have in the past several months. Marketing and networking is a massive part of starting any business, and dang…. it can be uncomfortable. However, the more you do it, the easier it gets and the more you grow! It’s all worth it!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Parts of my journey have gone smoothly and parts have been more of a struggle.

Finding a suitable brokerage to hang my license was probably the smoothest part! I have found myself a place filled with support, coaching, knowledge, and just all around good people.

My main struggles have been the emotional ones! I loved my role as a teacher and though I knew it was time for me to move on, I still had to rip that Band-Aid so to speak. I constantly questioned if I was doing the right thing…leaving my comfort zone and stepping into the unknown.

Additionally, I’m the type of person that likes to know what I am doing before I do it, ha! Well, I had to get over that real quick! (still working on it 😉)

Furthermore, marketing yourself and putting yourself out there for the world to see is not always comfortable.

Finally, starting and putting into place all of the ins and outs of a business takes a lot of meticulous care!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am a Residential and Commercial Realtor with Abby Realty in The Woodlands, Texas and a Real Estate Investor with Blupoint Properties, LLC.

I help homeowners with all their real estate needs whether it be selling their home, finding their dream home, and even leasing a space. I am also designated to help homeowners who face short sales and foreclosures. Additionally, I do commercial leasing, helping business owners find just the right space! Furthermore, as an investor, I buy homes as-is in order to help homeowners in whatever financial situation they may be in.

I have come from a background of building relationships and serving others. I do this job to put a smile on my client’s faces, to help them achieve their real estate dreams, and to serve my community that I have grown to love so dearly. My clients can expect the best from me! They are and always will be extremely important to me. I’m honored to work with every single one that allows me to be a part of their real estate journey.

How do you think about luck?
Luck for me…. it comes, but not randomly. In my experience, if I work hard to set and achieve my goals, luck will find me in the form of success.
