Hi Kennyraccs, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Started off in the small city of Beaumont, Texas. I was a good football and baseball player for central high school. I would always freestyle in the locker room and rap to friends over dj screw instrumentals which eventually led to me doing music full time after injuring my knee. Currently I have been offered a few deals but I want to make it as a successful independent artist. I grew up in the north side of beaumont, Texas where saying the wrong thing or moving the wrong way could cost you your life or someone close to you. Despite all the negativity, I managed to make something of myself through music. I now travel to Houston often for shows and collaborations while currently trying to bring a more Houston like culture to downtown Austin, although it us something that may be hard to replicate.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, I was going through depression at one point especially when sports did not go my way. I felt as if I was supposed to be the golden ticket for my parents to cash so they could retire. My whole life was centered around some type of sport. My mom has worked hard for over 30-40 years from walking to work and more. I put the pressure on myself to help change the situation
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m different because I don’t have any songs that sounds the same. I’m an interesting artist to follow because you never know what you are going to hear when you press play, however you can still bet all your money that I’ll come hard lyrically every time
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Honestly it’s too many to single out one. Things are different than they used to be. We was outside everyday and in Beaumont Texas literally every day is an adventure. Something funny or janky is gonna happen. It’s just the way things are.
