Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Gosch.
Hi Christine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Having been a Houston wedding + portrait photographer for the past ten years, I began photographing fellow wedding vendor friends and their business offerings in 2017. These shoots were completely different from a wedding or portrait session, as I was able to control the timeline, the lighting, the location, etc.
These sessions for different wedding brands increasingly picked up, and with the help of a necessary pivot during the 2020 Covid-19 quarantine, I phased out weddings entirely. Leaning 100% into brand photography came so naturally, and I began building the Lightbulb League team in 2020. The majority of our clients are creative small business owners, many still coming from the wedding industry due to our network and minimal, romantic photography style.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
While every small business encounters obstacles in order to help them grow, building & maintaining Lightbulb League has been pretty seamless, especially in comparison to having been a wedding photographer. All of the business decisions that are made are very intentional, ensuring that all of the work we do is enjoyable and manageable through the duration of working with our clients. That being said, we make sure to stay comfortably challenged so we’re in a position of growth. We’re always looking for new ways to learn!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Lightbulb League is a brand photography team based in Houston, TX, working with creative professionals to photograph headshots, products, interiors, food, process shots, lifestyle shots, flat lay photos, and any other type of marketing photo. Most of our work is photographed on film, and we offer a subscription option for clients that need fresh marketing photos several times a year. We also offer mail-in brand sessions for clients that live out of state, so they can mail us their products to photograph.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
We think it will be completely commonplace for ads to be interactive, with video being at the forefront of visuals. As photographers that provide still photos, we make sure we’re adapting to a format that includes more video marketing. Therefore we utilize videos in our social media + website to stick with the current marketing trends.
Pricing:
- Subscription brand shoots start at $199
