Today we’d like to introduce you to Core Dance Alliance.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, we are Lindsey and Lori! We met through the dance industry in 2019 and instantly connected both personally and professionally. The pandemic briefly took us on different paths, but it became evident in the spring of 2021 that our paths were converging, and the next chapter in our dance lives was pointing to starting a new dance studio.
We envisioned a studio that provided a welcoming and uplifting environment while offering the highest quality dance instruction to both recreational and competitive/pre-professional dancers. With that vision, we got the ball rolling in late April and curated a business plan and secured space by mid-May. Despite shortages in construction supplies due to the Houston freeze, we were able to renovate our new space in just six weeks and open Core Dance Alliance for business on July 6, 2021. We are seeing our vision come to reality daily as we welcome new dancers to our studio and are excited for what the future holds as we strive to be a dancing light in the greater Sugar Land area!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Not a complete smooth road – the biggest challenges to date were definitely with construction. The Houston freeze really put a squeeze and drove the price up on all materials and necessary for renovation. Even the simple things like paint became hard to find and proved to be a challenge.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are a dance studio offering both recreational and competitive dance for ages 18 months to adult. We offer classes in Ballet, Pointe, Pre-Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Leaps and Turns, Technique/Stretch/Strength, Creative Movement and Mommy and me. We believe in providing an environment that is positive and encouraging but also provides the highest quality instruction in all the before mentioned techniques. We provide training for dancers who desire to dance professionally as well as those who want to take dance classes purely for the love of dance. We believe dance classes provide the obvious gain of dance instruction but also confidence building, cognitive performance, and community and friendships.
Pricing:
- Monthly tuition starting at $85/class
- Special Ballroom Series nights for $40/person (instruction, food and drinks)
