Inspiring Conversations with Lauren Wheat

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Wheat.

Hi Lauren, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story actually started during the COVID lockdown. I decided to try and turn a negative into a positive by completing real estate school and getting my license. I completed my schooling in a matter of a month and a half, passed my exam, and hit the ground running! I went from an x-ray tech to a real estate agent in a matter of months, and I have not looked back. I truly wish I would have started my career with real estate a long time ago!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The struggles I faced came with COVID. I was not able to complete my schooling in person. It was all online, and that was hard for me. As soon as I got my license and started practicing, the lockdown was still going on. This made face-to-face time with my broker and peers extremely difficult, not to mention difficult seeing clients! There have been a few bumps in the road, but nothing has deterred me from this awesome career!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an independent residential real estate agent in Houston, Texas. Although I am a new agent as of November of 2020, I have completed a total of 8 sales, one rental, and one other sale currently pending. I am completely centered around my client’s needs, and my main focal point is communication. I truly believe that communication is the heart of a good real estate agent! The difference between me and another agent is that I am focused on YOU. What are your needs/wants/goals? I am here to help you achieve them and walk you through every step of the way. I am very available all of the time! I love what I do, and it shows!

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is a personal word. Meaning, this word is going to have a different definition to different individuals. Success to me is having a specific goal and achieving or surpassing that goal, no matter what the goal is.
