Hi Rykeysha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I started lash school, I went to IHeartlashacademy in Houston, within just 4.5 months, I had my license and was my own boss. With my second business, KB Customs I started out as just making t-shirts for myself and my family has turned into a global t-shirt business, over time, I have added many different things into my second business and it has been a successful start-up! KB Customs was started this summer, I always wanted a new shirt every day and one day, I decided to invest in the proper necessities and started getting creative.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but that’s normal in anyone’s case, which is a new small business owner. My challenge was learning how to find time for myself and yet still maintain a successful business.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in eyelash extensions, and I sell lash products to any other lash artist in need of supplies. What I am most proud of brand-wise is that I made it one year into my business. I offer all lash services, but my most popular lash set would be a freestyle set.
KB Customs, I do shirts, baby boxes, and I plan to add more to my business, I am most proud because I have such a creative mind and being able to showcase that into products always amazes me in what I can do!
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as being able to be my own boss, being able to pick my own hours, to be able to spend time with my family. I define success as being 22 years old with two successful businesses and being able to have peace of mind about my business.
