Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Domogma.
Hi Cristina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Started my health & wellness business in the Middle of the pandemic on 10/10/2020, offering Lipo Laser services to the Hispanic community in the state of Minnesota, and have been expanding to Texas, California and Florida since January due to the high demand addressing the health challenges faced by the Hispanic population in this country.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No. Some of the struggles have been finding the right marketing company that is honest and effective in how they allocate the limited resources available to promote and offer my services to the hispanic population. I have been victim of predatory practices against naive small business owners. But it’s part of the investment: to get to know the market, and how to navigate around predatory marketing companies.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I used to work for government (California Department of Food & Agriculture) as a Trade Policy Analyst during the Schwarzenegger administration. My greatest achievement was coordinating a research that involved addressing obesity issues affecting the Hispanic population in the Central California area, which is now an important pillar in how I approach the health issues that my clients face, particularly during the pandemic. There are cultural and linguistic nuances learned during this research process that make my job easier while helping my clients achieve their health goals.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Absolutely. It is in your darkest moments where one is able to grow the most. Faced with the possibility of death while forced into isolation is one of the greatest gifts that Mother Nature has given humanity in the last century. It forced us to go deep into a personal and collective reflection process, and those who survived and took advantages of the opportunity to reinvent oneself, came out of this crisis stronger and wiser.
