Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Byrne.
Hi Erin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a natural light, lifestyle photographer specializing in families, children, newborns & seniors. I focus on capturing the authentic moments between my clients and their family and will customize each session to create images that hopefully they will cherish forever.
I am a wife and mom to 3 young children. I love Jesus and I think photographs are just one of the wonderful ways we can be reminded of His love and goodness. My favorite breakfast is peanut butter and jelly toast and my favorite hobby is organizing.
My goal is to give my clients timeless pictures that they will cherish on their walls and in their hearts for years to come.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I struggle with “imposter syndrome” alot. There are so many talented photographers in my surrounding area and of course, you hear those voices in your head saying “you aren’t as good as them” or “they won’t love their pictures.” It is a real struggle but I also remind myself that God put me here in this moment, in this phase of life and I want to share my talent and bring others joy through family pictures.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I try to capture purely authentic moments between loved ones. I have even had people ask me “are we going to do any pictures of us looking directly at the camera?” That cracks me up. Yes of course I will get you the “money shot” of you all looking and smiling at the camera but my specialty is capturing the actual love and special moments between you and your loved ones. The soft brush of a mom’s hand in her child’s hair or the way a dad looks at his daughter when she’s being silly. The “in between moments” are what I love to capture.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I hope to continue being a photographer in the next 5-10 years. I am currently investing in mentorships and photography courses to further my education.
