Conversations with Sabrina Dandridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Dandridge.

Hi Sabrina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Sabrina Dandridge and I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 2013, I relocated to Houston, Texas with my family and we have been here ever since. I married my high school sweetheart at the age of 24 and we now have four children together. Their ages range from two years old to thirteen. I also should mention that they are all boys and a whole lot of fun. Outside of being a mom and wife, I work full time as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit. I have been a nurse for 10 years and although it has been challenging at times, I absolutely love my profession, In 2020, I decided to start my blog, “The Dandridge Life” and take my social media presence more seriously. My overall goal is to inspire women to be their true authentic self, while navigating the many hats that women wear. Whether that be, motherhood, wifehood, or professional career, I wanted to create an environment where women feel like they can do it all. There is so much beauty in imperfection, and that applies to womanhood as well. I hope I inspire women to be there best self in all things,

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Is anything ever a smooth road? My life’s journey has been anything but smooth, somehow I manage to still get the job done, I had my first child at 20, and I thought that would be a huge road block, but it turned out to be a major stepping stone. It created a drive in me that wasn’t there before. My biggest obstacle in motherhood, was after having my fourth son. It wasn’t easy getting back to my normal self like it was with my previous children. It took a lot of work, and depending on the help of others. There’s no way we can do it all ourselves, and I have learned that it is truly ok to ask for help.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been a registered nurse for 10 years in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The NICU is where premature and sick infants are cared for until they are healthy enough to go home. It has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. In 2018, I went back to school and received my Master’s of Science in Nursing, with a concentration in Administration and Leadership. It is one of my biggest professional accomplishments, because I did this while working and as a mom of three. I recently became a Professional Practice Leader in the NICU. This role takes on the nurse educator role, combined with quality and performance improvement responsibilities. I believe that I am just getting started on the impact that I will have in the nursing world. My love for my fellow nurses and the awesome job that we do is the motivation that keeps me moving forward.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
