Today we’d like to introduce you to Airan Arellano.
Hi Airan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
At just 8 years old, I arrived in Houston Texas in which I have called home for over a couple of years now. I was born and raised in a small town in Mexico called Tepic, Nayarit. Being from a different country, I knew that obtaining a higher education was a priority for my family and I. Due to my financial hardships and my immigration status, college was not an easy route, but I was determined to be successful and be a first generation graduate in my family.
During my time in college, I was confused and unsure of the path I wanted to take in my career. I remember having various dreams and aspirations about becoming a real estate agent in my senior year of college.
After spending 5 stressful yet rewarding years in school, I decided to finish my bachelor’s in finance and minor in marketing debt free at the University of Houston. With that being said, I applied my knowledge into the vast world of real estate and had the opportunity to be part of a real estate firm in which I fell in love with.
Today, I am now a licensed REALTOR®. I feel very thankful and blessed to be part of such a beautiful career that allows me to meet and connect with so many different people around my community. Real estate is not just a transaction is about creating relationships and memories along the way. It is exceptional that my clients feel comfortable and understand the process every step of the way. I also help investors make wise decisions in new developments, from land to the finished product. Every day I expand my real estate knowledge and continue to stay educated about our current market. Real estate is more than just a job or business is a lifestyle.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life has not been an easy road as a first-generation immigrant. The challenges that I had to overcome as a young adult have taught me the keys to persevere. Starting the journey as an entrepreneur, one of the challenges was finding clients in my first year of real estate; I had a little network in Houston. I took a chance and let nothing stop me from what I wanted to accomplish and I was able to build momentum pretty quickly. I continued to grow, learn about my capabilities, my passion, and myself. I feel honored to have worked with great clients by trusting me as their real estate professional during my first year.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am currently a REALTOR® with Coton House Realty and a land acquisition specialist with Houstonian Capital Investments and CRV Homes for construction and development.
I specialize in first-time homebuyers, new construction, apartment locating, and land acquisition for those who invest in Houston and surrounding areas. SO YES, I get to wear many hats in real estate, allowing me to facilitate the process for each of my client’s needs and wants. My clients know that I make myself available 24/7 with any question they may have and go the extra mile for my clients. I take pride in my work because my clients know that when they work with me they are getting an agent who knows the market. I am most proud when I get my clients the best deal possible; I enjoy saving my clients money and leaving them in awe with their experience. When it comes to myself, I am most proud of where I came from and where I am now as I continue to evolve. I truly believe that what sets me apart is my personality, my authenticity, my patience, and my knowledge of real estate.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love Houston, is a very diverse city, full of culture, great food, and friendly people. Additionally, I love how fast the city of Houston is growing and how affordable it is to become a homeowner.
