Today we’d like to introduce you to Gao Hang.
Gao, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I start learning painting and drawing in a studio when I was in middle school. I have never stopped since then, and making art never disappointed me. I knew being an artist would be my best career choice once I realized art is an established subject that can be trusted and studied when I started understanding art history and art theory in my undergrad. And step by step, till now, still making paintings.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been very smooth. The only time I “struggled” is simply because I was just lazy. Not anymore though.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work in my studio just like any other career. 6-8 hours a day. Reading, researching, writing, managing and painting. Everyone is so different, so people setting apart from others is a given. I am not proud of myself enough to talk about it, not yet.
