Conversations with Luis Velasquez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Velasquez.

Hi Luis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m just a guy with a vision who’s lucky enough to have the passion for creating, developing, and guiding brands and entrepreneurs’ branding and marketing processes.

I started my dream 21 years ago now. From that moment, I have been doing and studying my profession every day, getting responsibilities that have allowed me to work with fortune 100 companies as Art Director, Strategist, and Marketing and Branding Specialist.

I’m an Artist, Commercial Photographer, Director, Art Director, Director of Photography (DoP), Cinematographer, Multimedia producer, and a branding expert. I’m a doer and a visionary with 20 years of diverse experience – but, I’m not as old as you are thinking – (laughs). I have been able to bring many brands to life with powerful visual storytelling, because well, I have to admit that I’m obsessed with audiovisual works! Above all else, I have to say that I am incredibly thankful for the amazing opportunities that I’ve been given by God along the way.

I have been in love with learning and teaching for as long as I can remember, and I consider my life purpose to be generating ideas, concepts, and campaigns aimed at bringing effective communication strategies to improve businesses’ growth and establish a strong brand identity that my clients are proud of and want to show off!

Twenty years in the field has allowed me to work from production to strategic communications. More recently, I started working in the User Experience Design area as well.

I’m a proud Founder and Creative Director at LV Branding, a Creative Design and Marketing Studio based in the Houston Area, where I help brands reach excellence in their industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Any good cliff has an excellent path to deal with, and since we decide to take it, we know that the challenges will come with it. My story is not different.

Coming from a challenging year because of the pandemic, I’ve decided to bet the optimism and faith fuel that impulses my way. That decision had delivered the results. Today I’m more than happy with the good things in my personal and professional life.

This year has been outstanding in terms of the good opportunities.

Good projects from good private clients and the chance to be the strategic communicator and branding creator for the first Arts festival that the City of Sugar Land will have at the beginning of 2022.

This year gives me the chance to be very happy about all the good things that the future holds in my career and my company experience.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Since the Pandemic hits the world, all the industries have been learning important lessons. The Pandemic exposes multiple challenges to the brands and impulses the necessity to innovate and create new ways to connect with the people and the market niches.

I see that those changes have created tremendous opportunities for the advertising and branding industry. Now than ever before, the connection through different ways is super important.

Today, the brand needs to make more personal communications and relationships, which will surely impulse a new wave of new business models and new challenges to sort.

I’m super optimist about the future.
