Daily Inspiration: Meet Kelsey Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Rodriguez.

Hi Kelsey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My brand 36&7 first came into thought while we were in lockdown during 2020. It was during this time I was able to reconnect with my passion for art and experiment with different mediums. I wanted to bring artwork into jewelry and create an experience of a one of a kind limited collection per series.

The name was created as a way to connect me to my hometown in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. It’s a small historic town nestled between Highway 36 and 7.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been relatively smooth along the way. When working with polymer clay, it’s constant experimentation, seeing what does and doesn’t work. You just have to keep pushing yourself and keep trying if you don’t get it right the first time.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m most proud of the collection I just recently launched – Change of Season. I feel drawn to nature which was a big inspiration behind this new 12 piece collection. Each piece is very special to me and receives a lot of time and care put into designing it. I’m trying to bring quality and not quantity to the table.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Patience! While I’m working on collections – I usually workday to night bringing these ideas to life. It can be a timely but rewarding process once you see the end result!
