Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatayana Flanagan.
Hi Tatayana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to achieve something that I loved. I’ve dealt with a lot during my teenage years, but I’ve overcame everything that was sent to stand in my way. We don’t always have everything planned out or even know which direction we want to go, but we trust and have faith that God will guide us. I’ve been blessed with an amazing husband who’ve came along and accepted me for who I am, with all my flaws and imperfections. My number 1 supporter for sure! We then welcomed our beautiful daughter into the world and from that very day, I knew I had to make things count. I’ve done music, traveled the world, auditioned for different singing shows, etc. Didn’t really go how I expected it,too. Then, I started to think, well maybe I’m destined for a better opportunity.
I decided to start my own business designing nails in 2020. We as women, will spend hours getting our nails just how we picture them. So I spent hours, even late nights perfecting my craft. This was the birth of “Nailed By Trishae”. I wanted to go through every emotion of knowing what it was like owning my own business. I always knew I wanted my clients to come to a relaxing place (breath of fresh air) at anytime. So many people counted me out and still as of today. I just want to be an inspiration to others as well as the best version of myself that I can be. I want this opportunity to be more then just a “job” of course because I absolutely love designing nails! This opportunity has brought happiness and also I’ve finally tapped into something that I can show my craft in many different ways. “Nailed By Trishae” is getting the exposure it deserves each and everyday. I strive to give my all in every design I create. My main goal is to have my clients leave feeling more beautiful and confident as ever. This is just the beginning! I’m aiming to have multiple nail bars in the up coming years, with an amazing and growing clientele. I’ve gotten where I am today by not giving up, not being afraid to make mistakes and being open to constructive criticism. Most importantly, putting God first and believing in myself and my ability to be great! I’m excited about what the future has to offer.
Don’t count me out! This is just the beginning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth road? I beg to differ. I’ve had days, even weeks with no clients but I continue to perfect my craft and promote my business. I’ve had times where funds were low and I wasn’t able to get products. But, that didn’t stop me! Now here I am today with more than enough product.
Building a business from ground up is never easy. But, I think that’s the beauty of it. Once the final product is put together, you can stand back and appreciate it much more.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a young entrepreneur, who started her own nail business. I’m known for thinking outside the box with designs. I’m mostly proud that I don’t give up no matter how hard things may be or how often certain trends change and I need to adapt. What sets me apart is that I’m not afraid to fail. Making mistakes and having to start over is what makes you stronger and mistakes are where you certainly learn. It prevents you from making the same as before.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Within the next 5-10 years, I’m aiming to have 3 nail bars throughout the Houston area, with the ability to allow other inspiring nail techs to come work and show their create mindsets.
