Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Bell.
Hi Crystal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my business back in August 2018. I woke up with an idea I told my sister Keanna and my dad. They helped me every step of the way she was my extra brain. I had $100 to my name I started with lashes and my business expanded from there. I started working 3 jobs to fund my business and everything went from there. From the long nights to early mornings. Great customer service and great marketing skills I built my clientele and customers here In Houston, Texas. I went from doing everything out of my apartment to having a shop with everything I provide on my website it’s now in store. I’ve gotten to where I am because of my family, customers, my great assistant Christine, and God on my side without them my business wouldn’t be successful as it is so I’m very thankful and it shows.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
2021 alone has not been a smooth road starting off. Being that I was in a diesel truck accident in January caused me to lose my car. I couldn’t eat anything but mash potatoes a month straight, I lost 40 lbs, and I couldn’t do makeup. It had me very depressed and discouraged. But I kept faith started taking clients again in February but during the process girls I thought were my friends set me up. I wanted to stop taking clients until I got my shop out of my house. That made me go the extra mile to get my shop. Fast forward to May I was able to get my new car and my shop the same day. Those were by far the worse struggles during this process but I never gave up because God will always be with you if you just have Faith.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Business owner/MUA that specializes in makeup. I’m very known for a lot of things being a bottle girl, creating business cards, logos, etc. I’m also known for the crazy makeup faces I can create by looking at a picture. I’m most proud of the name I’ve set for myself and all the obstacles I’ve overcame this year alone. That’s a good question I couldn’t answer that myself so I asked a good friend of mines and these are her exact words.
“You stand out with your loving caring fun energetic personality, that’s in my opinion what makes your business stand out from others. You bring so much great customer service skills.
A Person seeking a service will travel and pay for GREAT SERVICE. the glitz & glam and other things.
In my opinion, it Doesn’t make any business stand out the service does and you have a great service, everything else is just a plus A added on to boost an already great business.” -Very unique
