Meet Ivan Loredo of ivanrdo.photos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivan Loredo.

Hi Ivan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi! I’m Ivan Loredo and I started in March of 2020. I can say ever since I was a young child I always wanted to do something in the creative field but not sure in what industry. I started picking up my first camera while I was in high school. I was just having fun with it but never took it seriously. After that, I decided to make it into a business after I finished college.

From there, I had no clue if it was the right decision but I knew deep down in my heart I was made for this. I started shooting my friends for practice and then I got better and better. I was literally improving and such a small amount of time. Soon then after I realized the path I was taking was finally paying off. I had collabed with influencers, and creators like me to get a glimpse of the beautiful world of fashion and modeling. Lastly, I’m here now and much happier with all the progress I have made!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has honestly been a tough road especially since I started during the pandemic. I can say that every struggle that I had was worth it because I am a firm believer that failure is necessary in order to succeed. My struggles were getting to know the right people, knowing how to edit, learning how to market, and most importantly accepting that not every shoot will be perfect. With my amazing talent, I didn’t need school to learn about photography. I taught myself everything. Yes, I learned the hard way but I knew that it wouldn’t trouble me because it’s like learning music. When you play an instrument you automatically learn the chords and the same thing goes with photography.

As you know, we’re big fans of ivanrdo.photos. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I specialize in portrait photography. My work consists of commercial, lifestyle, and fashion! I am known for my editing skills because I take so much time in editing a set. It’s more about quality over quantity for me. I like to take my time because the amount of work you put in really comes a long way. The most important thing I am proud of is improving. Improving in every aspect necessary to become a top notch photographer. That and my work ethic because I like to be consistent with my social media. I always discipline myself to continue posting no matter what. That brings me clients and obviously more connections. My services are found in my website. I want everybody to get the best experience for a reasonable price!

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My biggest advice to finding a mentor would be talking to someone that has been in the photography industry for years. You can learn so much from them and they can give you really important advice. With networking with people, I suggest finding people that fit your persona. Find a group of friends that accept you and respect your work. That way you can all learn from each other and start something greater!
