Today we’d like to introduce you to Howard Curry Jr .
Hi Howard , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I came up with H.A.R.M which is an acronym for Honor Ambition Respect Mercy in 2014. My first vision was to start a Big Brothers and Sisters program. I then thought to myself what would make my Big Brother and Sisters program different. I need a much bigger story to tell the kids how I got here! I was always into fashion and having the newest Jordan’s or outfits so I figured it was my time to create my own brand. My next headache was finding the right logo! Use the H! Nah but then people would think the H was for Howard. I wanted something that would get everyone’s attention., something that would make them look and ask questions. It took a while but then I thought hey I could use a squirrel 🐿 . Why the squirrel? What made you choose the squirrel. Well, I have 2 siblings and we all have pet names. Mine just so happen to be squirrel. So next was building my confidence believing in my brand! Well I started reaching out to a few celebrities and they took a liking to my brand and none of them asked for any compensation and I didn’t have to ask them to I post via Social media! That was the Stamp’!! Keep working!! You are doing something right!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth road? Not at all!!! The struggles come from all angles, marketing, finding the best quality for your products which includes buying samples that are expensive and sometimes can be a complete waste of money!! Not to mention sending out products to Public figures and you don’t hear anything back or they tell you they didn’t receive it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work full time in the healthcare field, I’m an Entrepreneur! Single Father and I’m full of Ambition!!! What I’m known for is my Drive, my personality and my way with people! I’m gonna always keep a smile on my face and mind on business and making sure everyone around me is Happy! But you know that’s a big task but I’m gonna try anyway!
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Keep working, don’t listen to anyone that’s discouraging!! Take Risk!! Big Risk! Don’t be scared to invest in yourself!!!! BET ON YOURSELF!!
