Hi Jlissa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi, my name is Jlissa Austin. I have been doing taxes since I was 18 years old but only for my intermediate family. I decided to step out on faith and give it my all in 2019. I started off working for complete taxes a tax company as Houston management and I succeeded my first year with my clientele and my performance where the next year Mashi Epting help me start my own tax company. At first, I was nervous because I didn’t know how everything was gon turned out. My first year I made $30K with only 2 preparers and 1 data entry. My second year I hit my 6 figure mark in the industry and only had 6 preparers under me. Now we are gearing into our 3rd year and I already know we going to be a millionaire tax company. Like come on look who the CEO is. 😂 My first 2 years we were a Virtual Tax company. We did everything off app called TaxesToGo. Now here I am in my 3rd year we have 2 locations and 19 preparers who have started the season strong. We have preparers in Dallas, Atlanta and Miami.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I can say it has been a smooth road for the most part but every blue moon I get the crazy clients that act like they don’t understand the process with taxes and they get to acting up and as a manager/ceo I have to step in diffuse the situation.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Basically what I do is maximize my client’s taxes in the most powerful legal way. This year’s tax refund is the biggest refund amount that clients have seen thus far. When people hear they estimated they get to wondering like what’s going on. So it’s my job as management/CEO to educate the clients on why the refund is high and to make sure they get paid out. I’m known for lighting up the room when I walk in with my big smile. What sets me apart from others is. I am who I am what you see is what you get.
