Today we’d like to introduce you to Zihan Wang.
Hi Zihan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started apprenticing in Beijing, China when I was 17 years old. I Found a shop when I graduated high school. The structure of a 9-5 never appealed to me. The artistic path spoke to my soul and tattooing made the most sense for me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
All roads have rough patches. The people I’ve met along the way that have supported and helped me, made getting to where I am now worth it. Learning to have a positive mental attitude no matter what I faced really carried me through the hardest times.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Tattoo artist, I’m currently focused on Asian traditional but am well versed in all styles.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I think for me, even though I have so many. My favorite would be when I was young, I was at a family Chinese New Year party. My entire family was there and there was nothing but good vibes. Being the only boy in my family they always went out of their way to make sure I felt special. I think everyone in the family being there that night is what made it most special.
