Life & Work with Gammy Gonzz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gammy Gonzz.

Hi Gammy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was raised in a musical home, my father being a musician & my siblings taking after him. I always knew in me that I would be pursuing music as that is all I knew growing up. I started writing music at the age of 14 & started releasing it to the world in 2019. Many would call me the black sheep of the family as I decided to take a different approach, I decided that English/Spanish pop music was where my heart resided in compared to my family being strictly only Mexican Tejano music. I knew it would be difficult as I had to learn the business myself and my family would not be there to help. I started collaborating with several different artists getting to know the business and having a better view of my agenda. Being able to finally put out my Debut album this summer and having a decent following is a huge accomplishment. The future looks bright & and I am excited to share my music with the world.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being raised in Mexican household, I was expected to follow certain music & certain looks that did not sit well with me, I always loved being myself & being different from my family and that unfortunately made me the outcast. Once I decided my approach in music would be different from my family I was automatically shut down from any musical support, as sad as that was I knew I did not need it. Instead of letting my emotions get n the way I worked hard & found my own connections that we’re able to guide me and help me create the music I love today. Having my family support would be amazing, but that would never stop me from doing what I love.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer/songwriter having released my debut single in 2019. My music consists of English/Spanish pop with various EDM, Hip/hop, Latin influences. What I am most proud of at the moment is finally being able to have a decent following and having my music catalog reach over 100,00 streams on Spotify. and getting the chance to perform in festivals like MiniFest 2022 I believe what sets me apart from other artists is my storytelling, I love to create music with serious topics but with music and melodies you can vibe/dance to.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck, I believe in faith and I believe anyone can make their dreams happen, it’s all about work and consistency. If you don’t like your destiny change it.
