Life & Work with Jason Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Rodriguez.

Hi Jason, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I started playing flute & saxophone when I was younger and was really good at it. had solo performances for my school district when I was younger. I had many people tell me I was very talented with music, but at the time I was into football and didn’t pay no mind to what music really could be. I graduated and began college, which I am in my last semester to get my bachelors, but I noticed I have free time, let me get back into music but this time recording my own music with vocals. I started January 2021 and through having an amazing management team, a marketing team & a pure consulting team they helped me make the best decisions possible for my career. I have accumulated over 218k streams across platforms, been in meetings with Spotify employed curators and have amassed over 1400 TikToks using my music.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
for me the struggles have been mental battles, sometimes with art, since I’m such a perfectionist, I tend to sometimes overanalyze or over critique my music. I just want it to be as polished and as perfect as possible for the audience, but I do realize through my team that my music really does deliver and it’s a genuine outpour of me. No gimmicks, straight art . for the most part I have been blessed with receiving co-signs from bigger artists or platforms, I’ve only dealt with the love shown towards me this far in my book.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I know I separate myself from everyone through my melody driven music. Many people go into the creation of a song very “stiff” if you will. I find melodies first and run with what I find. I can be in a studio and if you play me 10 beats I will make 10 songs. I have been blessed with having the ability to be unlimited creatively. I also feel like my material is different due to it being a mix of love and catchy wordplay while using hip-hop production. I wouldn’t consider myself a rapper. I’m truly an artist, I have the ability to rap & the ability to sing, but if you listen to most of my music I am mixing both styles.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I work at a Vet. (: I somewhat recently got my car broken and my laptop was stolen with all my music. The next day I bought a new one and started making songs. One of the songs from that session released and became my biggest song to date. It’s called “OBSESSED!”

I’m Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian & I believe there is a gap in the market with Hispanic representation in the American music scene.
