Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsey Clemons.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started when a close friend of mine wanted to surprise her boyfriend with a romantic night in for his birthday. She text me saying she needed my help with setting up her living room while they were out to dinner. Of course, I said yes because I truly enjoy doing things like this. She gave me a few supplies and I added on to it. I set up a DIY paint table in her living room, had a s’more’s and fruit setup on her kitchen island, blew up some balloons with a few “I love you” notes attached, lit some candles and created a rose petal trail leading from the front door. She text me that same night saying how surprised and happy he was. Days later, I did the same for another friend in Austin. He wanted to surprise his gf with a birthday hotel room setup. She was in awe and loved it so much. They both gave me the idea to turn something I enjoy doing, into a business and offer it to many others.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has been a smooth road so far. I had my first 4 bookings for Valentine’s Weekend & it was a major success for me. It allowed me to display not only my talents but to get a feel of how the process of booking, buying supplies for my set ups and timing every step for future bookings to come. I have a small car so the only challenge I had was getting all the balloons to fit inside as well as the decor setup. However, I was determined to make it work.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am known for my creativity and artistic ability. I am really good at seeing visuals and bringing them to life. When my thoughts start to flow with ideas, I must find a way to create it. I offer exquisite room decor to set the mood and ambiance for special occasions. Whether it be for a birthday, anniversary, date night, self care or other events, my packages cater to the simple and sweet as well as the lavish and extreme. I am extremely proud of myself for taking the steps in creating this business, doing what I love and believing in myself. I am also proud of my friends and family for showing so much love and support towards the start of my business. I believe what sets me apart from others is what I offer. You won’t find too many people with the creative spark to make magic happen in less than two hours. The details, the organization, being on time, offering wonderful customer service and communication is top tier for me with every customer I encounter.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to be consistent with marketing and don’t be afraid to speak about my business with confidence and offer the prices I know I’m worth.
