Today we’d like to introduce you to Sonya Ray-Pope.
Hi Sonya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Actually, a close friend invited me into the industry about five years ago. I have faced many challenges while trying to build my business. My vision is to teach my community about financial literacy, taxes, credit, and all the these we didn’t learn in school or in our homes growing up. I got to where I am today because I have a big support group who never tells me no to my visions.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is never a smooth road to success. Some struggles I have faced along the way were friends and family not believing in my dream, long days and nights, time away from my children and husband. The list can go on and on. I appreciate those struggles because they are a part of my journey. My struggles have helped me get to where I am today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Here at EPS aka Elite Professional Services not only do we do taxes but we help other businesses get started, credit repair, help with building business credit, business formation, auto insurance, notary, and CPR training. We are pretty much a one stop shop. I think what set us apart from others is the fact that we are willing to sit our community down and teach them as long as they want to learn. I am proud that our company is gaining traction and is continuing to build. Our brand loves to give back to the community as we host a community back to school drive every year right before the children to goes back to school. They leave our event with new backpacks and school supplies. We are big on giving back and helping the community.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see our industry growing and opening more stores in Houston and surrounding areas.
