

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachelle Richardson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always loved decorating for parties. And not your typical decor you see at the store. I always tried to go above and beyond. For my son’s farm themed birthday, I could not find any decor that I loved. So, I decided to buy a Breyer wooden farm and hand paint it. It was then that I realized how much time it took to create these unique pieces and I did not want to just toss it after the party. It was at that moment that I had the idea to rent out unique party decor. Well, fast forward 6 years later, Party & Co was developed. It wasn’t until Covid hit and my first business, with pet sitting, was extremely slow. That’s when I had time to start a new business. My husband pushed me to go after my dream. I told him as long as he filed the LLC, did all the paperwork, and taxes, I was in. Without even skipping a beat, my husband said yes!! All I wanted to do was create! And I haven’t looked back since!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to developing Party & Co was not smooth, but also not extremely rough. The hardest part was doubting myself. Putting myself out for the entire world to see and pondering if I would succeed or not. Knowing that I wasn’t as good as what was already out there and hoping I could learn and do better. That was my biggest struggle. You can’t teach creativity. You’re either born with it or you’re not. However, it took some time for me to learn techniques to this business. I am still learning, a lot, and have so much more to grow. It’s not just creating fun events, it’s also about connecting and growing your business. I am a people person and love to meet new friends. So, connecting with clients was easier for me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Party & Co is a party rental company! We offer event planning, balloons, personalized balloons, backdrops, and wood working…and anything else my client needs help with. The majority of our business, right now, is backdrops and balloons. I love to create fun pieces for my clients. So, I think what sets me apart from others, is adding something different than just balloons. We have all seen beautiful balloon garlands, but I like to go the extra mile to make each event stand out.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
This industry is definitely not fading away. There is always something to celebrate in this amazing life we all have. It’s not just birthday parties and weddings. Anything exciting in life is worth celebrating. The event industry is ever changing and we are seeing new trends daily.
