Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Montes.
Hi Jacqueline, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Entrepreneurship is in my blood. My father was a successful restaurateur, and growing up in the family business made me realize at an early age that I wanted to follow my father’s steps doing what I love. The love for design comes from my mother; she is a natural homemaker.
Born in Lubbock, TX and raised in Mexico, she moved to Houston, TX in 2004, where she earned her degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Houston.
Embracing her entrepreneurial spirit, Jaqueline founded Montes Design in 2017. Her extensive background in public relations, management, and customer service helps streamline the process on projects of all sizes, both commercial and residential.
Jacqueline’s primary objective is creating a space you love – a space that comforts you, brings you pride, inspires you, and makes you appreciate the beauty around you. With client satisfaction always at the forefront of her mind, it is her goal to provide not just a service but a lasting experience.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The main challenge as a mom -entrepreneur is finding work/life balance.
My way to solve it is to tackle the most challenging part of my day before lunchtime and end the day with a long walk to prepare my body and mind to rest. Finding harmony between my career and my responsibilities at home is all about time management and prioritizing daily tasks.

Montes Design is a preferred interior design firm in Houston, TX that specializes in residential, commercial, and Christmas decorating services. The idea that every home is worthy of beautiful design and decor was born in 2011 by entrepreneur Jacqueline Montes but truly maximized after Hurricane Harvey rocked the Houston area in 2017. Jacqueline, a resident of southwest Houston, saw the detrimental impact Harvey had on her friends, family, and community, and decided to jump into action, helping Houston rebuild one beautiful home at a time. In just a few short years, the firm has expanded from its focus on residential makeovers to now include premium services in luxury holiday decor and commercial design.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Working from home can be a blessing; however, I’ve had to learn to set strict work hours because before I knew it, I was working around the clock, and it was interfering with my personal and family time.
