Exploring Life & Business with Laurie Miller of Nani Pua

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laurie Miller.

Hi Laurie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2017-2019, I formulated an organic skincare line and our launch date was June 1, 2020. In February 2020, our vendors called us and one by one said our supply chain had come to a halt.

This caused us to do a huge pivot and we began contacting companies that manufacture high-quality hand sanitizer and in March 2020 began selling hand sanitizer.

We committed to donating one bottle for every bottle sold and have donated sanitizer to a number of wonderful charities. To date, we have donated over $130,000 worth of sanitizer.

Many women-owned companies have this same story and struggle. Our victories have come from supporting each other.

We are now back on track and have launched our skincare line with our Nani Pua 1960 Ethnobotanical Serum. Excellence, passion, and peace have been put into creating a luxury organic botanical serum that is people and planet-friendly.

We have dedicated ourselves to planting a tree on our conservation property with every purchase. Our glass serum bottles and hemp paper boxes are recyclable. Organic..Vegan…Woman-Owned…Cruelty-Free…

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We continue to have struggles as we move to release our second skincare product. We are still seeing a shortage of pump tops and increased cost of supplies, shipping cost increase, and delays.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Believing that organic skincare is luxury skincare I choose the finest organically grown botanicals for my skincare.

I grow and research botanicals on the Nani Pua Farm at Crown Hill Ranch and create relationships with the farmers that produce our oils.

Taking the time to research we have created the most beautiful and renewable packaging for our line.

We plant a tree with every purchase!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Without the encouragement of all of my girlfriends who own businesses, I would not have been able to navigate and survive COVID in business.
