Meet Susanne Ciaglia of Certified Nurse Health Coach in The Woodlands

Today we’d like to introduce you to Susanne Ciaglia.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Susanne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am originally from New York City. I received my bachelors of Science in Nursing from Binghampton University. I have worked in many facets of nursing ranging from a surgical nurse at a level one trauma center to the open heart unit/ surgical ICU. I have always had a passion for health and nutrition and raising healthy confident children. After a severe illness in 2011, I healed myself using food as medicine. After that, I changed my focus and life goals and received my Health Coach Certification from The Dr. Sears institute of Wellness. My main sources of joy are my two children and being married to my husband since 2009. I am a #1 best selling author for my children’s book “Building the Future of You and Me.” My passion is helping parents and children make living a healthy life easy!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road but life is like climbing Mount Everest. You cant get to the top of the mountain overnight. You have to stop, acclimate and make adjustments along the way. I take every struggle as a learning experience. Some of my best achievements in life have come from failure.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Certified Nurse Health Coach story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a certified Parent/child health coach. As a Health Coach, I help families learn how easy it is to be healthy, provide accountability, and educate both parents and children about what nutrients the body needs to grow, develop, and flourish and other changes that will help them have more energy and feel great.

I specialize in weight management/obesity.

What sets me apart from others is that I have been there and experienced it. I was an overweight child who struggled with being over-weight and the effects that has on a child. I never was taught how to be healthy, I had to learn along the way. Another thing that sets me apart is my nursing degree and experience. Having the knowledge and fundamentals of disease processes helps me treat the individual as a whole and provides me with a deeper ability to help my clients,

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m a fan of the positive attitude rather than luck. I’ve seen self-awareness and skills make an enormous difference in the probability of successful business and personal. I’ve always felt that It’s less about what happens to you, and more about what you make of each opportunity.

For me, it was always my drive and focus rather than luck. Things that have helped me have been, surrounding myself with successful people, building a great network gives you more support to help you thrive in more situations. Another thing is modeling the success of others can help you avoid wrong paths and painful mistakes. Most importantly, problem-solving has helped me grow while dealing with the tough stuff in life. I believe that luck may give the first opportunity, but then such characteristics as perception, determination, dealing with people turn that first opportunity into success.
