Meet Desiree Willis of Bossy Bee’s Kloset

Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Willis.

Desiree, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since I was taking business classes in high school, I knew that I wanted to run my own business, but I never knew what it would consist of. Some of my friends had talents that they knew they would do as an adult such as doing hair and nails and etc., but I didn’t have a talent that I learned that young. I used to be the friend that would tell everybody if you start a business, I can run it for you lol. Then, about 3 years ago I ordered a haul of clothes from a popular online clothing site, I was so excited to get them in and try them on. They were expensive, but I wanted to treat myself for once. But when they came in, I couldn’t fit any of them, I was so disappointed. A special someone told me, hey why don’t you sell them on Instagram, I was like why do you think someone would buy these from me. But I took his advice and I posted them on my Instagram, to my surprise, they sold in a few hours and I earned al of my money back. It was from there that Bossy Bees Kloset was inspired and it took off. My goal is to provide high quality clothes from reputable vendors to the public for prices that they can afford to spend. All women want to look and feel beautiful but I know we all families and business that we need to take care of, I want to be the site that they can go to and spend a few dollars to look awesome on their Mommy’s night on the town.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road all the way from the beginning. It takes time and money to find the right vendors that sell the quality clothes. There’s also the expense of getting the site built, registering the company so that it can be legitimate, supplies and host of other necessities you need to run a successful business. When it is all coming out of your own pocket, it is very hard to do and maintain a household at the same time, but I persevered because I want this so bad for myself. I have 3 beautiful daughters that I want to build a foundation for, and I’d do anything for them to be proud of me.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Bossy Bee’s Kloset was made to provide high quality clothing at an affordable price. I go above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service to my customers, all of our items are on hand and can be picked up, mailed or delivered same day. It started out as an online clothing store but now I am venturing into other women’s products that I will begin to offer in the near future. In the next 5 years, I see Bossy Bee’s Kloset as a one-stop shop for women. I want you to come and get your lashes done, buy a wig or some bundles of hair, and get you an outfit all in 1 stop!

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Most importantly with Covid, I learned to be patient. My business was in the beginning of its formation around that time and it halted business for me altogether. No one was purchasing clothes because we weren’t allowed to go anywhere. But I remained patient and worked on my site and finding better vendors until business resumed.
