Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Cade aka Chris vs. The World.
Hi Chris, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was always a funny and charismatic person from childhood and loved to entertain people. I just never knew where that skill set would lead me. I had many failed YouTube channels because I could never find my passion. I was using my talent and not God’s leading. As I got older and closer to God I finally found what I was looking for. My mission now is to create content in all types of media for God’s kingdom. It’s about lifestyle, not religion. I am a Christian rapper/producer by the name of Chris vs. The World under the music group WyzeHouse Collective along with my dad WyzeMan. I didn’t always have an interest in music but I felt God telling me to begin going in that direction. After about 3-4 years I have already released two albums with a 3rd coming very soon! I am also a writer/actor/ director and I have my own film company named StraitGate Films. I had a few FB series including “Your Renewed Mind” and “Dark Room” which highlighted the mind and testimonies of how God can change your life for the better. I am striving to create more content that people will not only associate with “Christianity” but really see the principles of living a better life such as love, peace, joy, kindness, etc. I want my content to really speak to people and let them know there’s more to life than mundane routines. I want the joy in my content to spread to others and change the world!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all! I had many failed YouTube channels where I would try to do skits or give advice or both and it just wouldn’t ever take off. I felt like a failure many times because I was comparing myself to others and how they were taking off. Same in music. My music didn’t sound like the industry music so I thought that it wasn’t good enough for the longest. I found that people would tell me it’s good to be different but wouldn’t support my uniqueness. Your own mind is your worst enemy. It knows your insecurities and you’ll think of every single one of them at the same time, but God helped me to discover that I truly don’t know what the future holds. The only way to know how people will react is to actually put it out. The key is to keep going forward, until you close your eyes for good.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
-Kingdom Producer/ Rapper: Artist Name: Chris vs. The World. My name is about going against the world’s system when it comes to making you compare yourself to others on social media/in-person, make you feel like you’re not good enough or your uniqueness isn’t good enough. God gave all of us something that the world needs not the other way around.
Writer/Actor/Director: Film Company: StraitGate Films and Creative company: Vision 2:22 Both my film and creative company are for inspiring people to go higher and believe that they have more inside of them. The films and shows to come and the ones I’ve done on FB are just a tiny piece of all I want to do with these companies
I believe what sets me apart is me being me. I do have people that I respect but I’ve learned if I don’t go down my individually unique path, then the world will never have what Chris vs. The World has to offer. People can only get close to what you’ve created but they can never do it just like you. There will always be a piece missing.
How do you think about luck?
To be honest, I don’t believe in luck. I believe your life is already been mapped out and I’ve always gone by the philosophy: “If you don’t do it, it won’t get done.” Meaning, there are books, films, music, etc that are waiting on you, but if you never do them, they’ll never get done. I found I was playing defense against myself and I was good at it. I was my own obstacle. At times I still am, but the more that I push past myself, the more I accomplish in my life.
