Inspiring Conversations with Becky White of Becky Does Botox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Becky White.

Hi Becky, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hello, and thank you for this opportunity! Absolutely. I was raised on the East side of town and was a high school dropout. I quit school at the age of 15 to get married to my first husband. I was pretty wild as a teenager and through my early 20s. I was a young teenage mom at the age of 16 years old, and then had my second child at 20 years old. . I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with my life, I knew that whatever it was, I had to be able to provide for my two daughters. So going to college, though I had no high school foundation to rely on, was a necessity if I was going to be able to provide any kind of life for them. Thankfully, with the help of some incredible mentorship and my Aunt Diane‘s guidance, I landed in community college when I was 23. My aunt was a strong force and helped my direction. Eventually, I would marry my second husband, With him, I had my third child, a son who was born with extremely complicated special needs. It was then- when he was in the care of the neonatal intensive care- that I realized I wanted to be like the nurses and doctors that were caring for him. They were not afraid of anything he presented to them, and I wanted to be brave like them in my life. I chose nursing as my future but also because I realized I needed some “street cred“ with my son’s healthcare team, having “RN” behind my name, gave me just that. I spent three years working as a bedside nurse, primarily in the neonatal intensive care unit that my son was in when he was a newborn. I will forever treasure the time that I got to spend in that unit, with the nurses that used to care for my son when he was there. As much as the care in that unit was for my son, it was formidable for me as well and completely changed my life. I left bedside nursing and did several lower level administrative roles prior to finding the aesthetics industry. At the same time, I also completed two graduate degrees, an MBA and an MSN, this last fall. Being a nurse injector was never in my vision, only because I had never heard of it nor experienced it. A friend of mine asked me if I could do Botox on her as a nurse. And of course, like any nurse would think, of course, I could, isn’t it just sticking a needle in someone? The sheer question presented by my friend gave me enough spark of curiosity that it sent my life in this new exciting direction, I have been injecting for almost 4 years now. On this journey, I have built my business from the ground up, and now I have clients at three different locations across the Houston area, including, Meyerland, Baytown/East Houston, and Spring/Woodlands! My life experience has afforded me the opportunity to connect with many different people from many walks of life. This is the sole mission of my company- to connect with people so that we can find the goodness and light in them as well as our inner badass.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In hindsight, I don’t know that I would call them struggles. Everything I’ve encountered has been an opportunity to grow in one way or another. Every experience has set me up to be more successful with the next effort. Opportunities for growth that I have encountered include learning how to manage my business financials, bringing on new employees and staff (recognizing the need), juggling frontline operational leadership roles while also being the provider of services, and managing our social media, while caring for my special needs son and all of this needs. Being a business owner is not for the weak, that is for sure. But, I can tell you, I would have it no other way. There are always things to do, always ways to grow, and that in and of itself feeds my never-ending love for dopamine and coffee.

We’ve been impressed with Becky Does Botox, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Becky Does Botox is an aesthetics community, primarily of women and some men, who support each other in finding the inner badass in each of us. We do that through mostly facial aesthetics but have other mediums as well. Personally, I like to connect with each patient.  I like to show people who I really am and learn about who people really are because I believe it’s through transparency and authenticity that we discover the essentials of being free. I created this business as a way of finding myself through helping others find themselves. I learned a long time ago that I don’t need anyone else’s permission to be exactly who the f*ck I am. And that freedom is what I hope to help everybody that sits in my chair find. Botox, fillers, PDO Threads, and the like, are just tools to help us get there. The brand is based around being the badass you were born to be. Because that’s the reality of who we are as human beings, especially women. Our bodies, our minds, our souls, and our spirit have the ability to transform, shape, and change the trajectory of our own lives as well as others. We are badasses. And I know how I feel when I get up from having my lips done for some filler put in my cheeks, or some threads put in my neck, I feel like a badass b*tch. And I want everyone that sits in my chair to feel that way and own it for themselves. That is my brand. This business is based around people. The people who support me to live and do everything that I do, my close friends and family, as well as all the clients that we treat. Everything is about the people: the peculiar, interesting, crazy humans that we are, and bringing out their passion for themselves and others!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I grew up pretty poor, we lived in a trailer that was falling apart. The floors were rotting out, the ceiling would fall in when it rained. And there wasn’t a whole lot of food. Sometimes we would eat miracle whip or whatever was in the fridge because there wasn’t anything else. But every now and then, after church on Sunday night we’d get to go play with the other kids at McDonald’s. And I would beg my dad if we could go, and I would plead with him that I wouldn’t ask for anything to eat, I just would want to go play. And I know he felt bad, I know he felt really bad because he couldn’t give us a happy meal that everybody else was getting. But every now and then, he would take us up to the counter and I would get to order an apple pie. And I freaking loved those McDonald’s apple pies. They were everything, probably why I have a food addiction today. But I’ve upgraded my apple pies from McDonald’s apple pies to now my favorite is Sorrento’s on Westheimer.
