Meet John Snow

Today, we’d like to introduce you to John Snow. John was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Tonia Griffin.

John, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Being a fan of GQ magazine, I enjoy dressing up sharp and presentable to express myself in a confident and professional manner. Having a bow tie collection, I wanted to add a twist to the well known neck tie. “Hmmm why not make a bow tie out of wood?” I asked myself…. So I set my mind on creating the staggering piece. As I went through soo many pieces of wood, sand paper, splinters, and jars of wood stain, I finally produced Mr. Gentleman Wooden Bow Ties! As I created the packaging, requested a logo from a friend of mines, created an online store, made business cards, I was excited to open up shop!

I recall attending my very first pop up shop in the beautiful city of Houston, I was extremely excited, and nervous at the same time, being the over-thinker that I am, I simply ignored any doubts, and fulfilled my mind with a “Positive Mental Attitude”. And from that point on, business started to grow, from conducting photo shoots with my dope photographer Ladaydrick Clark, support from friends and family, giving back to the community, and overall just shining that gentlemen light upon the world.

As for today, Mr. Gentleman is still going strong, we’re looking to improve each and every day. And we’re beyond proud to say: Be Different, Be Yourself, Be Unique.

Please tell us more about your brand, Mr. Gentleman
Being a huge fan of bow ties, John Snow wanted to add a twist to the well-known neckwear. WOODEN BOW TIES! Yes, unique handcrafted bow ties, that’ll indeed place a staggering addition to your business/ casual outfit of choice. Each necktie is carefully carved, sanded, as well as stained to display its natural wood grain. Here at Mr. Gentleman, we take pride in the saying; “Be Different, Be Yourself, Be Unique”. I’m proud of my product, because I aim to influence men that it’s completely ok to dress sharp, well put together and etc. and not what’s mostly portrayed in Hollywood.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Khambrel Foundation and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Khambrel Foundation.
Tonia and I first met at her annual Caring For Seniors event. Being a man of the community I cheerfully volunteered to assist with the gathering. Based on what I’ve witnessed from Tonia as well as her Khambrel Foundation, it truly warms my heart to see that they care, show love, and have the upmost respect for the community. Caring for Seniors affect the community in a highly positive way, from assisting them with updating their medical needs, providing well-needed health advise, care, as well as insurance information, to overall setup a well organized gathering for them, to show the senior citizens that we’re thankful for them. Not only Khambrel Foundation cares for the seniors, they also show love to the youth. Like they say “It takes a village to raise a child”. Promoting kindness to the youth, can make a positive impact in not only their future, but the future of the community. Yes the world can be ugly, yes life can be a struggle at times, but yet life is preciously beautiful, avoid being negative with the world, and shine your positive light, and all will be well. I’m grateful for networking with Tonia, and I’m grateful for Khambrel Foundation.
