Hi Kel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I founded Covenant Crate in 2020 after I witnessed and experienced the pandemic’s effect on relationships. Parents were stretched thin, marriages were on the brink of erasure, and children were caught in the middle.
I wanted to help married couples deepen their relationships through meaningful gift-giving. This year, I expanded my original vision to focus on special occasion gifts for couples, individuals, and events.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m a one-woman operation so I’m the gift box curator, content creator, web developer, photographer, digital marketer, inventory specialist, and so many other things. It’s a struggle to wear so many hats at once, but I pace myself. I don’t do too much too fast. For this reason, I believe things have been pretty smooth.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I put together gifts that encourage love and inspire self-care. Quality products are sourced for each gift box. And I personalize the items and packaging to align with my overall theme for that box.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Networking was tough during the pandemic, but things are getting better. I signed up for several different industry-related Facebook groups and connected with several entrepreneurs in the personal gift industry virtually.
My advice would be to 1) study the industry before taking a big leap 2) outline your detailed, time-based business goals 3) ask entrepreneurs questions because many of them are willing to share valuable information! All of these things have worked for me. After making connections, ask someone who’s where you want to be, for formal mentorship. I did that and it’s worked wonders for me.
