Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Wilson.
Hi Amber, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Heiress Nail Spa in the middle of the pandemic, in August of 2020. I have had the idea for a decade, and I slowly began to gather items to put in the Spa…a couch here, a chair there…completely based on faith. My Husband, Erik, and I opened the business in his old neighborhood of Sunnyside in Houston Texas. We wanted top notch beauty services to be available to all women without the need to drive into more expensive neighborhoods to obtain them. We opened our first location inside of an incredible beauty supply store called The Black Store. The Black Store serves as a fantastic beauty supply destination, but also as a hub for community events, thought, empowerment, and classes. Heiress Nail Spa operating inside of The Black Store has proved to be a beautiful marriage of ideals.
Heiress Nail Spa is so excited to continue to grow as we prepare to open our second location inside of First Colony Mall in Sugar land! We are looking forward to offering the best in nail, makeup, and beauty services to the women in Sugar land and the surrounding areas. We even have plans to expand the business beyond Texas with shops in other states. My best advice for life and for business is to keep putting one foot in front of the other and DON’T GIVE UP! Even when things look as if they are not going the way that you want them to go…DON’T GIVE UP.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In my opinion, challenges are simply opportunities to grow! Growth is what you want, so anything that gets you there is a positive thing. Every obstacle comes with lessons, therefore even obstacles are a plus that can be used to your benefit.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a makeup artist. I have worked with many makeup brands including Chanel, MAC, and Facade Beauty. I have also had the opportunity to work with many celebrities including Snoop Dogg (on a video shoot), Deborah Duncan (KHOU Channel 11 “Great Day Houston”, and for many celebs at the iHeart Country Music Festival.
