Today we’d like to introduce you to Araceli Sanchez.
Hi Araceli, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I will never forget the day I was asked: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” My answer was, “A Photographer”. It was a teenager’s dream, I never thought I was going to get this far in my career as a Mexican immigrant who came to the United States at the age of 13.
I bought my first camera at 19 years old. I met Alberto Aguilar who was the photographer at a wedding I attended and I offered myself to assist him so I could learn more about this field. After a few photoshoots, he offered me to work at one of his events. I met Emilio Santacruz (the videographer) and he offered me to work as the main photographer at a reception hall. I gained so much experience customer service wise and of course practicing my skills.
As the years passed by, I worked for many companies as a freelance photographer.
I finished College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish. I worked as Project Manager of Transcription for one of the most known intelligent assistants in the market. After the Covid crisis, all projects shut down. I was struggling economically and my ex-partner Geovani Lopez encouraged me to start my own business. I doubted myself as a businesswoman, but he constantly pushed me to sell and get my own clients and stop working for other photography companies.
My main focus started to be my own company, therefore my business went up tremendously in a matter of 1 year. Now I can say I’m very blessed to be fully booked all weekends of the year.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’m very lucky to have great people as clients, I can’t recall an obstacle from any of them.
This year, I had a huge obstacle by one venue. This action brought a loss of thousands of dollars in already signed clients. I was suggested by many colleagues to sue them but I decided not to.
I believe the success God has given me has no limits. Just as HE provided when I had an overdrawn bank account HE will provide now with new clients.
With the support of my video team lead by David Pino bringing great quality, and my effort for great images and selling techniques, this obstacle did not affect me as I thought so.
We’ve been impressed with Ariz Images, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ariz Images is a photography company that specializes in photo and video coverage in Wedding and Quinceañera events. Ariz is very passionate of her work, and makes sure those unforgettable moments are captured to stay alive in an image for many years more.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
As a single mom, my daughter is the main reason I work so hard. I can say she is my main happiness. After her, my passion is hunting emotions in people’s faces to make a click on my camera and enclosed those beautiful moments in a picture so that special moment stays alive for many more years.
